LSL Careers

In an industry like ours, customers expects first class service.

The people we employ are key to our success, this is why we set up LSL Careers - to find people with a passion for property who can lend their skills and enthusiasm to our growing company.

The property industry is an exciting one and working in property seems to be growing in popularity. With the growth  in the number of television programmes about house buying and property renovation many see working in the property industry as a way of combining this interest with work.

Representatives within our LSL brands are often asked if there is a need to be experienced in the property market to work in it and the answer is ‘no’. If you are prepared to commit to your role, develop and, in some instances, sit professional qualifications, then property is a great industry for developing an exciting career.

However, whether you want to be an Estate Agent, a Chartered Surveyor, a Financial Consultant or a Branch Manager, people skills are essential. Moving house and securing a mortgage probably rank amongst some of the most stressful life events and we need to assist our customers through some traumatic times. Ensuring our people have good communication and organisational skills is therefore key.

LSL is growing all the time. We now have more than 4,700 colleagues throughout the entire group with new positions arising every day – as well as apprenticeship opportunities too.  Overall, we’re looking to recruit the best people, and that could be you.

Dave Murray, Director Frosts: “The business and apprentice really gained from the process and through workplace learning it has allowed us to introduce somebody that would not have been employed by us if it weren’t for the apprenticeship.”

Shannon Clarke is a recent LSL apprentice. Here she tells us about her experiences of working within LSL and the benefits it brought her.

“I was working in retail when I saw the advert for a Lettings Apprentice at the LSL estate agency brand, JNP, and as I wanted a career I could progress and learn in, I decided to apply for it.

From Day One I was treated as a valuable part of the team – everyone was so welcoming and helpful.  I worked alongside the Administration Manager and Assistant Manager, who were supportive and approachable throughout, and was taught a wide range of skills from daily administrative duties to liaising directly with landlords and tenants.   I accompanied staff members on valuations, property viewings and inspections so I had an overall feel of how the business worked and, as my knowledge and skills increased, my confidence built.

Over the year of my apprenticeship, I also had a very supportive college trainer who came to the office to assess me at work, go through the modules that needed completing and to discuss my progression which was really helpful.

From starting the apprenticeship at the age of 19, I can honestly say that it is has been a journey.  I learnt new skills, discovered the area of work I am best at, and learnt who I am as a person. After having uncertain feelings as to whether an apprenticeship would be for me, I am pleased that I proceeded with the application and had the opportunity to become part of such a great team.”

Lale Ibrahim believes being an LSL apprentice is a great opportunity

“I saw the apprenticeship opportunity advertised and was excited to start a Level 2 Diploma in Administration.

The apprenticeship involved learning the processes of an administrative role and systems within the business and, after shadowing colleagues, I was soon given my own tasks to do which really benefited me.

I had college work to complete but the senior management supported this and knew that sometimes I needed to take extra time to finish the college assignments.  My manager and colleagues were very supportive and helped with my day to day workload if needed.

The apprenticeship is hard work but certainly worth the effort.  It has benefited my understanding of administration and helps me excel at my job. It was a great opportunity and I feel it has helped me on the career path that I wanted.”
