12 Days of Goodwill

The LSL Communities Forum has launched its winter campaign and, as last year, is encouraging colleagues to show their support to their local communities during 12 Days of Goodwill.

Each day from 1-12 December colleagues are being offered ideas to support others; from donating to food banks or charities, to offering help to someone who needs it or supporting a small business - there’s a variety of ideas being suggested. Colleagues are also invited to pledge their support – as shown below.

The campaign will also bring colleagues together in celebrating a Group-wide Festive Jumper Day with a request for charity donations. There’s four charities being supported: Save the Children, Sunshine Chronicle Charity, Lily Mae Foundation and Dementia UK – which LSL will support with further contributions.

As a Group we want to have a positive and lasting impact on the communities we work in – as we report in our Living Responsibly Report – and this is yet another way the forum support this.

LSL Colleague Pledges:

Helen Williamson, LSL EA Franchising Marketing Team

Doing the Christmas food bank donation with my boys. Always good to chat about how lucky we are and support others where we can.

Day 2: Donate to a local food bank or charity

Amy Loxton, Novium

A colleagues daughter is running her first marathon to raise money for a local stroke rehabilitation unit who are looking after her Dad following an unexpected stroke earlier this year. I certainly couldn't run a marathon and want to show support for my colleague so have donated per mile and have encouraged the rest of team Novium to do the same.

Day 2: Donate to a local food bank or charity

Amy Loxton, Novium

Team Novium had a great Christmas jumper day to match the festive decorations in the office.

Day 9: Organize a festive jumper day or themed dress-up

Kevin Jobson, EA Newcastle Head Office

Newcastle Head Office did a quick Raffle and donated all funds to the local "Cash for Kids". Good effort all round (even though I didn't win on the raffle...)

Saw some Parma Violet candy canes and bought them as a treat for my friend who loves Parma Violets. I do not. I did not try them. She was pleased though :)

Day 10: Leave a surprise note or treat for someone to find

Helen Williamson, LSL EA Franchising Marketing Team

Thank you to everyone who joined in the Christmas Jumper Day fun from the EA franchising marketing team. A great selection of festive knits, sparkly tops and headwear. Even better, the day wasn't just about jumpers - it also helped us support a meaningful cause and spread some goodwill. Yippee‑ki‑yay to the whole team for excellent Christmas and team spirit.

Cheryl Williams, Esurv

Every year we support our local food bank - Sunderland Area Parent Support - with their Christmas Eve box appeal to ensure local children have a new pair of pyjamas and a few toys/treats and with food hampers. This year was even more poignant to help as the charity lost one of their members of staff - and my good friend - so the boxes and food hampers we donated were in her memory.

Rinku Shukla & Victoria Michell, LSL Land New Homes

Vicki and I volunteered with The One Can Trust Food Bank at our local Morrisons, helping to collect food donations for families in need. It was freezing, so we kept warm by dancing around, but the generosity of our community warmed our hearts even more! We managed to fill 12 crates of food that will make a real difference during the cold months. This was our last volunteer session with One Can Trust for the year, and we’re already looking forward to supporting them again next year. We hope these contributions bring a little comfort and cheer to families this festive season.
